Who Writes Love Letters These Days?

Yellow buttons in the field,
I pour my heart onto paper,
Vulnerable ink, worthless words,
I make wishes on ancient streams,
Never bold, only brave
Who writes love letters these days?
I only get so many words per day
And I must put them all on the page-
Unless I am to speak foolish thoughts to your face
Dandelions are only weeds to sad suburban families
Who don't climb trees
Who writes love letters these days?
"Your eyes bring me visions of the sea and sky,
When your lips brush my hand it makes me want to cry,
Your golden halo only I can see,
But we both know we're not right for this world,"
I still wish on dandelion seeds and
Recite ancient spells, but make me say your name and
You will bury my body in
Soft California dirt
Who writes love letters these days?
